Before I get started, I just wanted to let everyone know that even during this “down time” where I haven’t really written much over the last year or so….the Blog has been ON FIRE!!!!  I don’t know who the hell is reading this shit, but we’ve spread our disease pretty much to the four corners of the earth!!!!

They have a new feature here on WordPress.  I can go into the “Stats” section and find out all kinds of information.  How many hits, how the viewer(s) found our Blog, search engine keywords used, and so on.  Now they have a new “Stat.”  It’s called “Views by Country.”

Yeah, “Views by Country.”  So I can now go in and see not only how many hits we’ve had, but what Country the hits came from.

Since the Reunion…we have had over 3,000 unique visitors check in here at Verdugo Headquarters.  We haven’t even written anything new and the fans have continued to pour in. 

Let me show you the list of countries that have viewed our Blog since February 25, 2012:  United States, Brazil, Indonesia, Canada, Syrian Arab Republic, Russian Federation, Hong Kong, Poland,Nigeria, Republic of Korea, Taiwan, Equatorial New Guinea, Bulgaria, Germany, United Kingdom, Thailand, Bolivia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Argentina, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Ukraine, Turkey, Bangladesh, Hungary, and Serbia.  From this list, it’s pretty safe to safe our disease is slowly becoming a worldwide epidemic!!!!

When Soldiers from the Mideast are throwing stones at one another….and they connect with their target….do they now say “AHHHH!!!!”????????

Are the dudes down in Syria now saying “Get outta my dugout!!!!”????

Do Thai fishermen now bark out “Quick!!!!….Pantherlike!!!!” when they haul one in from the shallow coastal waters????

Are Ecuadorians now “short-hopping” one another with a soccer ball????

These are things we may never know.  But clearly, from the impressive list above,  the Verdugo Disease Continues to spread!!!!

This is an open letter to all the fans of this Blog who think “it’s over”….or that ‘Ol Gee has “thrown in the towel”…or that “Gee will never write another story!”  I even had someone from CNN contact me recently to ask me WTF was going on with this Blog.  When you have a Blog like this….it’s tough.  Everyone wants to talk to you.  Some people (when you have a Blog like this)….well, they want to KILL YOU.  Regardless, I understand this:  THE FANS WANT MORE!!!!

So to those of you who have been entertaining thoughts like “it’s over, Gee is done, he’ll never write another post”…….well….I have two words for you:  THE FURY IS ABOUT TO BE UNLEASHED!!!!

Now is the time.  All of the great stories about the ’92 and ’93 Teams are about to be told!!!!

I’m sorry to all of you out there who love this Blog and this Team as much as I do.  I love writing the stories as much as you like reading them.  But there HAD to be a bit of a delay before I started writing about what we did our last two seasons. 

And let me tell you, all I’ve been doing since the Reunion is THINKING about what I’d like to say on this Blog about our final two seasons.  And I’m done THINKING about it.  I’ve got a torn disc in my back, a dislocated collarbone, bone spurs in my neck, my right knee feels like it could blow-out any second, and I’ve never felt better!  Why?  Cause I’m about to write about the greatest Team, who had the greatest players, who played in the greatest games ever played. 

The ’92 Season had nothing to do with the planets aligning….it had nothing to do with luck, it had nothing to do with chance.  No.  This had everything to do with the vibe we created.  This had everything to do with 14 guys that were on the same page.  It was the most incredible summer I ever had in Baseball.  I had coached other Teams to Championships.  But those seasons couldn’t come close to what we did in the summer of ’92.

It was (without a doubt) my finest hour as a coach. 

No-sir-ree….’Ol Gee ain’t done!!!!

This is just the beginning.
