We have sent out invites to former ’92 alumni. Many are scattered all over the US so we will broadcast it LIVE on U-Stream as well for those of you who are not local. The private screening will be held at an undisclosed location (as we did at THE BASH) to avoid any appearances from our long list of enemies.
To you Verdugo-haters out there I just wanted to say this: Everybody knows Verdugo is the outright, undisputed KINGS of American Legion Baseball for All-Time. So quit fighting it. Accept it. Take ownership of it (just like we do!). And instead of driving around all day tomorrow trying to hunt us down, pull up a chair and enjoy the show! You’ll NEVER find us anyway!
Yes-sir-ree, The KINGS of Legion shall gather again on short notice for this impromptu mini-bash. No autograph seekers either, please! So far we have confirmations from Yours Truly, BullOxen, Turner, Haggs, and HANK!!!! We have tried to reach Kasey, General, Weapon , Bir, and “B.” We can’t expect Jackson, Hack or Gabe to fly in but if any of them do it wouldn’t surprise me. Thunder is way up in central California now and Yves is in San Diego. Evans lives in Vegas now. We also extended an invite to Vo!!!! I’ll send an email to Moreno as well.
Anyways….we hope many folks tune in tomorrow. If you see any ticker-tape parades tomorrow….you’ll know WHY they are having it!!!!

The shit talking was world class. You may have grown your guts a little more, aged, and are experiencing hair loss…..but you dudes have NEVER lost your skills to wear the opponent down mentally first and then physically second.
It started with Gee and his classic mandatory wife beater coaching uniforms- uniforms that Henry may still wear. The best all time classic rag was at Notre Dame when Evans yelled, “Do you pay your light bill?” Everyone stopped and paused to think about the upper education retort- only to discover that the opposing pitcher was not matching up his socks and belt.
“What the fuck do you mean by that shit Evans?” asked Bull Oxen.
“The dude gets dressed in the dark.” replied Evans.
Jody still requires therapy and the carnage continues.
Of all the coaches I have ever played for (Lou Pinella, Jerry Manuel, Adams, etc), Gee was the best one I ever had- not for his knowledge of the game, but because he developed his athletes to use their big brass nutsacks during a time when mine was bald. As I stated to Gee, he is the reason I ever got a chance to put on a big league uniform and you dudes are the heart and soul of helping a pathetic, scrawny, slant eyed midget get his shot. 92′ was the year I became a pitcher because I had the best friggin team picking everything and driving runs in. Gee’s shoulder is still fucked from all the carnage our bats laid upon the Valley.
I took a piece of all of you with me to every place I went. Thunder and his big heart to stick up for my ass- even though every chick in CV wanted him and he didnt have to help out the band trumpeter rooting him on while he piled bodies and punted his way to college for Falcon Football.
Canale has the biggest set of nads I have ever seen on a teammate, dipped like it was his job, and drank more beer than any human being possible. But he came prepared every single day to play and the only dude that even comes close is David Wells. However- no comparison and I truly mean that. Plus your 90MPH curveball to date is still the best CB ever in the Valley. Sabin and I still talk about how you broke his helmet with that weopon.
Little Canale and being my bodyguard during HS. He protected me like his brother and always stuck his neck out. The dude could brawl as I witnessed when he came to my UCLA apartment, partied with me on New Year’s Eve and destroyed every emergency exit sign in the place……and pimped every able bodied female that fell for his tired game. But he was a DUDE!! Then passed out and pissed all over my stereo speaker. Classic shit!!
To Evans….the best shit talking fool ever to walk the face of the earth. Style, character, and poise. Even his hairdo was something I admired. There was never a female safe when Evans was around and never a bad shirt, hairpiece, or weakness he could not exploit verbally. Nothing was off limits and my only regret is that I cannot hear more of it.
Turner…..need we say more? A fucking stud, clutch, and always persisted. An animal- pure and simple.
And Hagges…..my most hated enemy of all time until we shared a bench and figured out that we actually were boys. I will never forget when Hagge was playing shortstop at Notre Dame picking grounder after grounder- a mastery of glove work. His cannon in the hole was like no other and he always had that pissed off look on his face until a dip went into his mouth and he had a beer in the other. Then he became the Hagges we all know and love. My dad gave Hagges the best thing he ever said- and the bastard never told me I was even good……”Hagge truly loves baseball and he would make a great coach.” I only hope Hagges and I can share some beer, get faded, and laugh about all the shit we used to do in La Crescenta.
Thank you Verdugo Hills for taking me onto your fucking awesome squad and teaching me how to play the game. The best damn teammates I EVER had on and off the field.
My only regret is that I quite on your monkey asses in ’93. Shameful, no excuse, and a decision that haunts me to this day. I often wondered what you guys thought of me and was guilt ridden. No excuse, but the truth. I could not face you dudes, but after you brought me back into the fold- Fuck all you dudes for not doing it sooner………love you bitches and this is the best damn blog on earth!!
